Please help my car was inspected late AUG. and two weeks ago the check engine
light came on. I thought it was a mileage service light to bring it in so I
turned it off or so I thought. It came back on three days ago so today while
I was driving to get the diagnostic the light went off on its own. The garage
said it was the code p0455. What do I do to fix it and where do I start ?
Thanks in advance.

TCM?
I had written on here before about my van dying and not knowing why. I
eventually went through every troubleshooting step in the Haynes manual,
and had a mobile mechanice come out and check out the van. Was told by the
machanis that my PCM was bad, thus the search for a PCM began.
Finally had to send my PCM to a company to be ‘rebuilt’. When I got it
back was told the ignition circuit was rebuilt.
Plugged in the PCM and my van started! Yeah! Within 24 hours check
engine light came and I hooked up an OBD tool. Tool came back with two
codes- first one (P0600) said there is an internal communication problem
with the PCM, and the second (P1698) said that there is no communication
from the TCM.
My question is this- where exactly is the TCM? Is it in or a part of the
transmission, or is it a component in the PCM?
I just had the transmission rebuilt in June of this year if that helps
any.
TIA!
PING: 2000 Caravan 3.0L V6 problem/question.
Hello,
I have started to notice, what sounds like a problem coming from my engine
when it is at higher RPM’s. It sounds similar to the noise you hear from an
engine that has mechanical valve lifters that are out of adjustment (loose).
Under the hood, the noise seems to be coming from the top of the engine.
The vehicle has 50,000 miles on it, and I have changed the oil every 3,000
miles since new (10W-30). Anyone that has knowledge about this I would
greatly appreciate your input.
E85 Fuel In my Car?
I was wondering if I could use E85 fuel in my car, its a 1994 Dodge Spirit
with a 3.0 v6. Its 25 cents cheeper than unleaded fuel here, and the
station in my town is the first in Indiana to sell the alternate fuel
2000 Neon fuse blows
New car to us…… The fuse that controls the A/C and rear defroster blew.
No problems until the weather cooled and my daughter had to use the
defroster. Inserted a new fuse yesterday, and within 10 min or so, it blew
again.
Now we have narrowed it I THINK, what might cause this? Or am I destined
to take it to a shop and have a lot of diagnostic time?
OR anything else we can look at first?
thanks
95 intrepid 3.5 v-6 Radiator
Any one know of any way to fix a cracked tank on these or do you have to
replace the whole radiator? The crack is on the right side tank just on the
top of it about 2 inches long.
Replace an automatic transmission myself?
My ’92 Shadow’s 3-speed auto transmission has just self-destructed
again.
This transmission has been rebuilt twice before. This last time it
lasted a hair under 2 years and about 20,000 miles.
Given a certain amount of common sense and tools, how practical would
it be for me to just buy a remanufactured replacement and install it
myself?
I have 170k miles on the car, it looks good (yes, beauty IS in the eye
of the beholder) and is otherwise in good shape.
Suggestions?
TIA
Mike

shadow fuel line
i have a "93 shadow es, the fuel line is perferated from one end to the
other (corrosion and what not) it has been patched with rubber line. I have
recieved conflicting answers on replacement. Niether answer came from auto
mechanics and my local parts dealer has absolutely no time under the hood, he
just recites numbers from a parts catologue on a computer. Can this line be
replaced with rubber or do I have to use the steel lines? I am trying to
avoid fitting steel if i can but if rubber wont do the trick then ill do what
i have to.
