1999 RAM VAN Seats

Hi all,

I need to replace the power seat track in my 99 RAM VAN.  My wife
either raised or lowered it with an aluminum bat wedged under there
and snapped the shaft that runs all the way across the front.

Does anyone know which other years and models used the same seat
track?  Like maybe the pickups or caravans??  I’d like something that
just bolts up without drilling new holes in the floor.

PICS: Chrysler BRINGING a MAINLIER Minivan – SRT to follow?

From AB

*****
Is a "macho" minivan even possible? Toyota’s exploring the
"Swagger Wagon" angle with the Sienna SE, and Dodge is
apparently going to try and find out with a new variant of the Grand
Caravan. Minivans are generally not aspirational vehicles; people buy
them because they need the utility. Of course, that’s not a bad thing
– people haulers were created for a reason.

However, Dodge is going to try and spread the appeal beyond
kiddie-schlepping moms to attract more men into the fold. A
"sportier-looking" front end paired with a black-and-grey
interior doesn’t seem like it’d be enough to swing much of the male
demographic. After all, how sporty can you make a big box without a
total redesign?

The new model will reportedly draw from the Caravan R/T concept that
was quietly displayed at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show, and it could
debut within a few months. The Chrysler minivans have a lot to offer
in terms of packaging, but their interiors leave much to be desired.
If Chrysler substantially upgrades the look and feel there, its vans
could land a few body blows in the battle against the Toyota Sienna
and Honda Odyssey.

Now who wouldn’t want to see an AWD SRT-8 Dodge Caravan

Pictures below of the R/T concept

6.4 Liter Hemi coming to 2011 Dodge Challenger – 480HP

From AB

*****
First and foremost among the predicted changes on the 2011 Dodge
Challenger SRT-8 is more power from an enlarged 6.4-liter Hemi: a
bump of 55 horsepower and 40 pound-feet of torque. That would put the
big coupe at 480 ponies and 460 lb-ft., and rumor also has it that
power will get to the wheels through an eight-speed automatic
transmission developed by Chrysler and ZF. Also according to Allpar’s
inside man, output levels will remain the same on the R/T model, while
the base SE will get Pentastar V6 engines with 40 more horses and 20
more lb-ft, for 290 hp and 270 lb-ft. in total.

Most of the other supposed changes seem meant to make life easier for
Chrysler and Challenger buyers. The floorpan is being reworked so the
car fits more easily into Charger and 300 production, an electric
power steering pump is coming onboard and an upgraded interior is in
the offing. Cosmetically, the muscle car picks up the Charger’s door
handles, the Magnum wagon’s hatch release button for its trunk, and
the lower front grille gets turned upside down.

2000 durango speedometer not working

My 2000 Durango  with 5.9 V8 has an odd issue.
The speedometer stopped working and the check engine light, ABS light and
Brake warning light are all on.  Everything else is working fine and I have
checked all the fuses.  None of the fuses or relays relate directly to this
group.
Brake fluid is full.
Anyone have a suggestion?

Thanks in advance

Can battery problems fry electronics?

I just had to replace the Transmission Control Module on my ’94 Caravan for the
second time since I got it less than a year ago. The first replacement was from
a junkyard, but solved the problem for several months. Shortly before the last
one died (causing the transmission to go into 2nd gear "limp mode") I started
having occasional battery or cableing problems that would result in slow
cranking. After the problem occured, checking the codes showed that there had
been a "battery disconnect", although I had not disconnected the battery in
several months. I am wondering if loose cables or battery "glitches" could have
allowed the voltage to spike, damageing the module that failed.

Is this a reasonable hypothesis? Would there be extra precausions to take other
than just checking the battery and cable connections?

94 Caravan transmission question

Hello. First off I am sorry if I keep asking questions about this
same van as I am sure you are all busy people. But my brother is very
poor and he can not afford a new or different vehicle so I try to keep
him running with my limited mechanical skills and junkyard obtained
parts. So…I have a 94 Caravan 3.0 engine automatic with a 3-speed
transmission. The old transmission went up and we got a replacement
from a wrecked van at the junkyard. It seems to work ok and goes
forward and backwards and gets up to a steady 50 mph. However I think
it could work smoother and go full highway speed if I could fix one
nagging problem which seems to be of an adjustment type I hope. On the
top of this transmission is a 2 piece lever which has one part
connected to the shift cable and the other to a solid metal rod which
connects to the throttle. They should operate independently but these
seem stuck together in some way and will only turn together (When the
gears are shifted) which is affecting performance. I don’t want to
just force them apart and break something. Any advice on what could be
a cure or is this unit replaceable with the transmission in place?
Thanks in advance.

Dodge Caravan Light Bulbs How-To Guides With Pictures

I created a few quick guides while doing some maintenance on our 2006
Dodge Caravan. Owners of other fourth generation (2001 to 2007)
Caravan, Grand Caravan, or Chrysler Town & Country minivans should
also find them to be useful.

Here are the guides –

PICS: The 2011 Dodge Challenger got a FACELIFT – Changes!

From CS

Here are some new photos of what appears to be the facelifted 2011
Dodge Challenger in R/T trim without a single trace of camouflage.
The cosmetic changes over the 2009/2010 muscle-coupe are extremely
subtle and it will take a trained eye to spot the differences.

These include the reshaped lower intake up front (basically, the
designers turned it upside down) and the elimination of the Ram nose
emblem on the hood, plus a new set of door handles. It is possible
that the 2011 Challengers could feature more changes on the outside
and in particular the rear end as we don’t have any other photos of
the car.

It is believed that the refreshed Challenger will get a much needed
reworked interior with a new design and upgraded materials.

Rumor has that the 2011 Challenger will also benefit from some
important changes under the hood. More specifically, it is said that
the base Challenger SE will get Chrysler’s new Pentastar 3.6-liter V6
engine pushing out somewhere between 280HP and 300HP, while the
flagship SRT8 will receive a new 6.4-liter V8 delivering some
480-horsepower, up from 425HP.

Anybody lend a hand?

This is a ’92 Grand Caravan with a 3.3L engine. What’s the easiest way to
remove the alternator from this thing?
