96 Neon (DOHC) Stalling

I have a 96 Neon that over the last few weeks keeps dying. I have had the Cat.
Converter replaced and it ran for a few days without problems. It then
started dying when I stop. The points and plugs and power steering pressure
switch has been replaced and the throttle plates cleaned. After this is ran
again for only a few days. It’s now doing the exact same thing again! Does
anyone have any suggestions on what may be causing this. I am running out of
"budgetted" maintenance funds and I’m really being to wonder about my repair
shop. Thanks.

Bad camshaft sensor that isn't bad

My Grand Caravan would randomly just stop running every half hour or
so, and it showed a 54 code. I replaced the camshaft sensor and after
briefly showing an 11 code, it has reverted back to the 54 code with
the new sensor but ran more badly (just seconds before dying). The
sensor is clearly continuing to provide its signal as the engine first
runs, then stumbles, and then dies.

Testing method: I used an old fashioned moving-needle VOM to observe
the sensor output. These antiques show the product of the voltage times
the duty cycle, whereas digital meters periodically sample their input,
and hence show random variations. Doing this, I got a pretty steady ~1
volt AVERAGE output from the sensor regardless of how badly the engine
was running. A DVM showed 0.05 volt output when the engine was stopped.

Unless I am missing something (certainly wouldn’t be the first time),
this MUST be either the computer (e.g. the camshaft sensor input
threshold has drifted to some absurd voltage) or intermittent wiring
between the sensor and the computer. I tend to dismiss wiring because
this has shown two DIFFERENT intermittent modes of operation that
changed suddenly when the sensor was changed, which seems (to me) to be
pretty far fetched as a wiring problem. Are there ANY other reasonable
possibilities?

Are these computers repairiable? I would guess that whatever chip the
camshaft sensor goes to has probably been fried, so if it can be
identified and changed, the computer could be repaired.

I looked on eBay and other places and did NOT find a replacement
computer. Is there a source of them somewhere?

van stalled and wont start after driving thru flooded street

97 dodge caravan with 3.0. My wife drove the van onto a flash floored
street. Went into walmart no rain, came out FLOOD. All streets were
flooded, dont know how deep but now the van wont turn over. Trying to
start but just wont turn over. I suspect the fuel pump or something to
do with fuel. but is not sure. Any ideas for anyone outthere. what
would most likely go when hit by water. The water must have been high
because i saw a rag hanging on the muffler pipe. The rain was so hard,
and so fast that I saw water settled on top the power steering cap. I
dont think the water was that high but I think it found its way in
under the edge of the hood with wind force and the amount of rain.

Apparently, Rep. Mark Foley is homosexual. And like many homosexual
men, he likes young teen boys. We should pray for him that he gets a
handle on this problem and refrains from harming any more kids.

Meanwhile, we need to wake up. The fact that this is typical behavior
for homosexuals doesn’t stop us from continuing to elevate such folks
to positions where they gain access to our kids.

93 Intrepid clock

I recently picked up a 1993 Dodge Intrepid, with no owners manual. I, for
the life of me, can not figure out how to set the clock. It is not part of
the radio, it is overhead. If ANYONE can help, I’d greatly appreciate it.

I’ve been having some issues with the automatic transmission on my 96
Dodge van recently. It has a V8 motor with a 3 speed automatic
transmission and AC.

The transmission seems to slip when going into the top gear, The slip
seems to start around 28-30 mph and it doesn’t fully engage until
around 38-40 mph, lifting my foot from the gas seems to help the
shift. It has also started to slip a little when going from 1st to
second gear and will occasionally ‘clunk’ into reverse when I shift.

I’ve checked the tranny fluid and it seems to be at or near the
correct level.

Can anyone suggest what the problem might be?

Recovered my shadow after a theft. biggest problem is the tranny may be
fried. Would love to upgrade it to something with a locking converter. Any
possibilities?

I really thought this group was a serious group that helped people with
their car problems, but there are some BUTTHeads who think its a place
to play and leave insults. Is there a way to get jerks like that off
and out this group? I am trying to get help but other than two
comments all others was JERKs and jokers. If you have no help to
offer please stay out the group and of the site.

car so I am not sure of the engine but I know its dual overhead 4cyl

diagnosing 1997 stratus fuel system

greetings, my 97 straus will not start and i believe it is the fuel
system. my gas gauge reads empty and i know there is at least a half
tank of gas. when i spray some starter fluid into the air intake the car
will start momentarily (a couple of seconds) and then quit. i checked
the fuel pump fuse and it is okay. is there anyway to check the fuel
pump without dropping the tank? i have a volt/ohmmeter but i am not
exactly sure how to use it
